Keyboard Replacement

  •  Keyboard not responding due to failure of the replaced keyboard part.

  • Certain keys not working due to failure of the replaced keyboard part.

  • Keyboard backlight failure where the backlight is part of the replaced keyboard assembly.

  • Installation workmanship directly related to the keyboard replacement.

Not Covered

  •  Liquid spills, moisture damage, corrosion, oxidation, or contamination.
  • Broken, removed, loose, or physically damaged keycaps after collection.
  • Dust, food particles, insects, foreign objects, or debris under the keys after collection.
  • Keyboard issues caused by motherboard, EC, BIOS, firmware, software, driver, or operating system faults.
  • Damage caused by bending, dropping, opening, tampering, or mishandling the device after collection.
  • Unrelated faults such as touchpad failure, power button failure, casing damage, or palmrest damage unless specifically repaired or replaced.

Screen / Display Panel Replacement

Covered

  • No display caused by failure of the replaced screen part.

  • Lines, flickering, abnormal display, or backlight failure caused by the replacement screen.

  • Touchscreen failure where touch functionality is part of the replaced screen assembly and the fault is caused by the replaced assembly.

  • Installation workmanship directly related to the screen replacement.

Not Covered

  • Cracked glass, cracked LCD, pressure marks, black spots, bleeding, or display damage after collection.

  • Physical impact, drop damage, hinge damage, casing misalignment, or external pressure on the display.

  • Liquid damage, moisture, corrosion, or contamination inside the display assembly.

  • Cable damage caused by hinge fault, casing damage, impact, or external force after collection.

  • Display issues caused by motherboard, GPU, LCD connector, BIOS, firmware, driver, or software problems.

  • Touchscreen issues caused by the motherboard, touch controller, digitizer board, cable, firmware, driver, software, or parts not included in the replaced display assembly.

  • Dead, stuck, frozen, bright, or dark pixels unless more than four affected pixels are clustered together and confirmed during inspection.

  • Minor cosmetic differences for compatible, OEM-equivalent, refurbished, or special-order replacement screens unless otherwise stated in writing.

  • Colour accuracy, colour tone, colour temperature, brightness uniformity, contrast differences, or colour calibration differences unless specifically stated in writing.

Battery Replacement

1 year / 400 cycles / 70% capacity threshold, whichever comes first *

Selected laptop models, compatible-grade batteries, special-order parts, older devices, high-risk cases, or customer-approved exceptions may be limited to 300 cycles if clearly stated in the invoice, quotation, or job sheet.

Covered

  • Battery not detected due to a confirmed fault with the replaced battery.
  • Battery unable to charge due to a confirmed fault with the replaced battery.
  • Battery capacity confirmed below 70% of the replacement battery’s original rated/design capacity within 1 year from collection/delivery or before the applicable cycle limit.
  • Sudden battery failure caused by the replacement battery.
  • Battery swelling within the 1-year warranty period or before the applicable cycle limit, whichever comes first, subject to inspection.
  • Installation workmanship directly related to the battery replacement service.

Not Covered

  • Normal battery wear, battery ageing, or gradual capacity reduction that remains at or above 70% of the replacement battery’s original rated/design capacity.
  • Shorter battery runtime caused by heavy usage, gaming, high screen brightness, background applications, battery settings, or device power consumption.
  • Charging issues caused by faulty charger, charging port, motherboard, power IC, BIOS, firmware, operating system, or software settings.
  • Damage caused by incorrect, faulty, unstable, underpowered, or non-compatible chargers or power adapters.
  • Unverified battery health percentage, full charge capacity, cycle count, or runtime differences shown by Windows, macOS, BIOS, manufacturer software, or third-party diagnostic tools unless confirmed by Geld Technologies during warranty assessment.
  • Liquid damage, moisture, corrosion, physical damage, impact damage, overheating, tampering, misuse, or attempted repair by another party.
  • Customer-supplied batteries unless workmanship warranty is specifically stated in writing.

Motherboard / Board-Level Repair

1-year limited unless otherwise stated *

Covered

  •  The same repaired fault, repaired circuit, replaced board component, or workmanship directly related to the board-level repair stated in the invoice, quotation, or job sheet.
  • Failure of the replaced board-level component where the failure is confirmed to be related to the repair performed by Geld Technologies.

Not Covered

  • Unrelated motherboard faults, future component failure, CPU, GPU, PCH, RAM, SSD, firmware, BIOS, or embedded controller failure unless specifically repaired.
  • Liquid damage, corrosion, oxidation, burnt boards, missing pads, damaged traces, prior tampering, or previous repair damage unless warranty is specifically agreed in writing.
  • Failure caused by faulty charger, battery, screen, keyboard, USB-C device, dock, hub, power supply, or other connected accessories.
  • Intermittent faults, multiple unstable faults, or faults that cannot be reproduced during warranty inspection.
  • Data loss, especially where storage is soldered or part of the motherboard.

Body Panel / Casing Replacement

1-year limited *

Covered

  • Failure of the replaced casing, cover, palmrest, bottom case, bezel, or body panel due to a confirmed defect in the supplied replacement part.
  • Fitment or reassembly issues directly caused by Geld Technologies workmanship.
  • Screw, clip, or alignment issues directly related to the replaced body panel.

Not Covered

  • Cracks, dents, scratches, broken clips, pressure damage, impact damage, or cosmetic damage after collection.
  • Colour shade, texture, finish, age, or cosmetic differences for compatible, used, refurbished, or supplier-equivalent parts unless specifically guaranteed in writing.
  • Hinge, display, keyboard, motherboard, touchpad, battery, port, or internal component faults unless separately repaired or replaced.
  • Damage caused by opening, bending, forcing, dropping, tampering, or mishandling the device after collection.

Hinge Repair / Replacement

1-year limited *

Covered

  • Failure of the repaired or replaced hinge due to the repaired hinge part or hinge installation workmanship.
  • Looseness, alignment, or opening/closing issue directly related to the hinge repair performed.
  • Reassembly issue directly related to the hinge repair area.

Not Covered

  • Hinge damage caused by drop, impact, excessive force, twisting, pressure, or mishandling after collection.
  • Damage to screen, back cover, palmrest, casing, bottom case, bezel, cables, or internal parts unless separately repaired or replaced.
  • Pre-existing casing weakness, broken screw posts, cracked plastic, or frame damage that was not repaired or replaced.
  • Cosmetic differences, paint wear, scratches, or minor alignment differences unless specifically stated in writing.

General Service / Thermal Service

Covered

  • Workmanship directly related to the general service performed.

  • Reassembly issues directly caused by the service.

  • Thermal paste or thermal pad application issues directly related to the service.

  • Internal cleaning or cooling component service issues directly related to the work performed.

Not Covered

  • Existing hardware faults that were not repaired or replaced.
  • Faulty fan, heatsink, motherboard, GPU, CPU, RAM, SSD, HDD, battery, charger, or other components unless separately repaired or replaced.
  • Overheating caused by design limitation, weak cooling system, blocked airflow after collection, heavy workload, defective cooling hardware, or environmental conditions.
  • New faults occurring after collection.
  • Software, operating system, driver, malware, or user configuration issues unless specifically included in the service.
  • Liquid damage, physical damage, tampering, or misuse after collection.

Software / OS Service

  • Reinstallation issues directly related to the software or operating system work performed by Geld Technologies.
  • Driver installation issues where the driver was part of the agreed service.
  • Boot or setup issues caused by the software work performed by Geld Technologies.
  • Configuration issues directly related to the agreed software service scope.

Not Covered

  • Malware, viruses, ransomware, software corruption, failed updates, account lockouts, licence issues, activation issues, data loss, or user changes after collection.
  • Hardware faults, storage faults, RAM faults, motherboard faults, or other physical faults unless separately repaired.
  • Compatibility issues caused by unsupported software, third-party applications, old hardware, or future updates.

Third-Party Product Warranty

Bought, not repaired

Covers laptops, networking gear, NVIDIA GPUs, ASUS motherboards, RAM, SSDs, storage devices, PSUs, peripherals, and other branded products purchased from Geld Technologies. The manufacturer, distributor, or supplier — not Geld Technologies — has final say on approval, repair method, replacement condition, and turnaround time.

Within 7 Days Of Purchase

We help process your manufacturer or distributor warranty claim without a warranty-processing service fee, provided the product is returned with the invoice, serial number, accessories, packaging, warranty card, and clear fault description where required.

After 7 Days Of Purchase

We can still assist with the manufacturer claim; however, our standard service fee applies for diagnostics, claim handling, RMA assistance, removal, reinstallation, recommissioning, configuration, and testing.

Covered

  •  Assistance to submit warranty claims for eligible third-party products purchased from Geld Technologies.
  • Basic diagnostic verification to confirm the reported fault before warranty submission.
  • Warranty claim communication with the relevant manufacturer, distributor, or supplier where applicable.
  • Reinstallation and commissioning of an approved warranty replacement, subject to the applicable service fee and agreed service scope.

Not Covered

  •  Physical damage, impact damage, cracked parts, bent pins, burnt components, broken connectors, missing parts, liquid damage, corrosion, oxidation, or contamination.
  • Damage caused by power surge, incorrect charger, incorrect power supply, unstable power source, wrong voltage, faulty PSU, faulty adapter, or improper installation.
  • Damage caused by overclocking, mining, overheating, firmware modification, BIOS modification, tampering, opening, repair attempts, or modification by another party.
  • Products with removed, damaged, altered, or unreadable serial numbers, warranty stickers, labels, barcodes, or proof-of-purchase details.
  • Software issues, driver issues, operating system problems, malware, data loss, configuration issues, account issues, or licence problems.

Our Warranty Claim Process

The process is the same for all repair types — bring your invoice, receipt, or job number and we’ll handle the inspection.

Step 1: Contact Us

Contact us within the warranty period and provide your invoice, receipt, or job number.

Step 2: Send Your Device to Us

Return your device to us for inspection and verification. Warranty approval is subject to inspection and confirmation that the fault is covered under the relevant warranty.

Step 3: Repair Or New Quote

If the warranty claim is approved, we may repair, rework, or replace the affected part or repair area at no additional charge.

If the issue is not covered under warranty, we will provide a new quotation before proceeding with further repair. We will only proceed after customer approval.

When does my computer repair warranty period start?

The computer repair warranty starts from the day your device is collected, delivered, or marked ready for collection, whichever happens first. Third-party products purchased from us run from the invoice or purchase date.

What do I need to bring for a warranty claim?

Please bring your original invoice, receipt, or job number, plus the device itself for inspection. For third-party products, also bring the original packaging, accessories, serial number details, and warranty card where applicable.

Does my warranty cover the whole device, or just the part that was repaired?

The warranty only covers the specific part, component, service, or repair area stated on your invoice, quotation, or job sheet. It does not cover the whole device or unrelated faults that appear later.

How long is my computer repair warranty period?

It depends on the specific work done. Keyboard, screen/display panel, battery, motherboard, hinge, and selected body panel/casing repairs generally carry a 1-year limited warranty unless otherwise stated. General service carries 30 days workmanship warranty, and software or operating system work carries 14 days workmanship warranty.

How does the battery warranty work?

Battery warranty is 1 year or 400 charge cycles, whichever comes first, with capacity-related warranty applying only if the replacement battery drops below 70% of its original rated/design capacity within the applicable limit. Certain laptop models or battery cases may be limited to 300 cycles if clearly stated in the invoice, quotation, or job sheet.

What is the screen dead pixel policy?

Dead, stuck, frozen, bright, or dark pixels are only warranty-eligible where more than four affected pixels are clustered together and confirmed during inspection, unless a different written term is stated in the invoice, quotation, or job sheet.

I bought a computer part rather than having my computer repaired. Is the warranty the same?

No. This falls under third-party product warranty. Products purchased from us follow the manufacturer, distributor, or supplier warranty. We’ll help process a claim free of charge within 7 days of purchase; after that, our standard service fee applies. The manufacturer, distributor, or supplier makes the final decision on approval and outcome.

What's not covered under our warranty?

Physical or liquid damage occurring after collection, tampering or repair attempts by another party, pre-existing or unrelated faults, customer-supplied defective parts, and software/data issues outside the agreed scope are generally not covered. Each service type above lists its specific exclusions.

What happens if my claim isn't covered?

We’ll explain what we found during inspection and provide a new quotation before performing any further repair work. We will only proceed with the job after customer approval.

Will I get my data back if my computer needs warranty work?

We take reasonable care, but please back up your data beforehand. Geld Technologies isn’t responsible for data loss during diagnostics, repair, or warranty work unless a separate backup or recovery service has been agreed and paid for.
